The 蜜桃视频 Community College Rho Iota Phi Theta (PTK) chapter named sophomores Christine Arjona and Bailey Jackson to the 2026 All-Kansas Academic Team, and the pair was honored on April 2 during a luncheon at Garden City Community College.

The All-Kansas Academic Team is part of the All-USA Community College Academic Team program, sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, the Kansas Association of Community College Trustees, and Kansas community college presidents.

Students nominated by their college are eligible for consideration for the All-USA Academic Team, one of the nation鈥檚 highest honors for community college students.

Arjona, a nursing major from Dodge City and a graduate of Dodge City High School, plans to continue her education by pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and specializing in pediatric oncology. She credited her family as a key source of support throughout her academic journey.

鈥淢y time at CCC has been both challenging and incredibly rewarding,鈥 Arjona said. 鈥淭here were moments when I felt overwhelmed, but my fianc茅, Aaron Twombly, provided constant encouragement and support that helped me stay focused. I am also grateful for my instructor, Macey Batie, whose encouragement and willingness to go above and beyond when I struggled with course material made a meaningful difference. My children inspire me every day to work hard and set an example, showing them that no matter your age or where you are in life, you can always chase your dreams and succeed.鈥

A 2024 graduate of Pratt High School, Jackson is a history major who plays on the Trojans softball team, is active in Phi Theta Kappa, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and is a Presidential Scholar. She intends to continue her studies in history with an emphasis in public history and hopes to pursue a career as a museum curator.

鈥淏eing a student at 蜜桃视频 Community College has allowed me to grow in ways I never imagined,鈥 Jackson said. 鈥淚 have developed a strong appreciation for the community and a desire to give back. Seeing how much people care about the college and the success of its students has made a big impact on me. Being part of a place that values connection, support, and service has made my experience at 蜜桃视频 truly meaningful.鈥

Joining Arjona and Jackson on April 2 were College President Dr. Seth Carter, Executive Vice President Nikol Nolan, Vice President of Academic Affairs Angel Morrison, Vice President of Finance and Operations Justin Villmer, PTK advisor Sami Talsma, and Board of Trustees member Arlen Leiker.
